This workshop is designed to help clubs and organisations effectively implement a parental support program.

Who is the workshop for?

This workshop is for anyone in a leadership or decision-making position at a centre, club, school, or organisation

Time Commitment

1.5 hours attendance face-to-face (No pre-course work or reading required).

Workshop Content

The workshop content includes:

• Defining “Parental Engagement”
• Understanding today’s sports parents
• Issue and challenges sports parents face
• Aligning an organisation for parental engagement to thrive
• Creating a “winning” culture
• How to manage and support parents
• Communicating with parents
• How to conduct a parents meeting
• How to deal with poor sideline behaviour

Participant Requirements

• There are prerequisites to attend this workshop.
• There is no assessment, written or practical.

Accreditation

This workshop is provided as professional development and therefore no formal accreditation is gained for attendance.

Workshop Cost

The workshop is currently being provided free-of-charge. Participants receive an “Great Sports Parenting” booklet.
