The Kumon State Combined Carnival is usually held on the first full weekend in March each year.
Athletes in the younger age groups U7 to U11 are given instruction during the event. Athletes in the U11 and younger will have the opportunity to learn ‘how to’ throw, jump etc. during the event. A more relaxed attitude to these age groups will occur with time for instruction from the officials.
Medals are awarded to the top 3 placegetters in all age groups. Athletes in the U15 age group will be vying for selection into the LANSW State Team to compete at the Australian Little Athletics Championships, which will be held in April 2021.
This season, the Kumon State Combined Carnival will be held at Beaton Park, Wollongong on Saturday and Sunday, 6 & 7 March 2021.
Entries will close on Wednesday, 10 February 2021 (or once the cap is reached) at a cost of $25 per athlete entry. There is strictly no late entries this year due to restricted numbers (Covid-19).
An OFFICIALS DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOP will be held prior to the carnival at the venue on Friday 5 March, 5pm-7pm. Click here to find out more information and to register
First event each day will be at 9am, with first call at 8.30am. Athletes participate in ALL of the events on offer for their particular age group. Performances for all events are allocated points, based on the LANSW Multi-Event pointscore system. The points are then added together to determine final results.

AGE GROUP MANAGERS – As usual, we required parents to act as Age Group Managers (which is similar to centre age managers) at the Kumon State Combined Carnival. Depending on numbers, there will be up to two (2) Age Group Managers per age group and gender (eg. 9 Boys Blue, 9 Girls Pink, 10 Boys Silver etc.). If no parent helper is available for the U13-U17 age groups, we do allow them to look after themselves as long as one of the competing athletes nominates themselves to look after the paperwork. If you are interested in escorting your child and their age group to their events, in the role of Age Group Managers, please read the AGE GROUP MANAGER MEMO and click HERE to nominate. Please note that groups without Age Group Managers (Parent helpers) will not be permitted to leave the Meeting Point areas until they have someone to act as Age Group Manager. If you require more information please contact Cheryl Webb via email at email@example.com.

Athletes in these age groups will not be permitted to leave the competition area.
