“Engage” Workshop For Coaches

This Working With Parents In Sport workshop is designed to help coaches build positive relationships with sporting parents .

Who is the workshop for?

This workshop is for coaches working with young athletes of all ages and abilities.

Time Commitment

1.5 hours attendance face-to-face (No pre-course work or reading required).

Workshop Content

The workshop content includes:

• Understanding today’s sports parent
• How coaches can keep parents happy
• What you should want and expect from your sports parents
• Questions parents might ask you
• Creating your philosophy
• Proactively communicating with parents
• Conducting parents meeting
• Engaging parents in fun ways
• Dealing with disagreements

Participant Requirements

• There are prerequisites to attend this workshop.
• There is no assessment, written or practical.

Accreditation

This workshop is provided as professional development and therefore no formal accreditation is gained for attendance.

Workshop Cost

The workshop is currently being provided free-of-charge. Participants receive an “Engage” booklet.
