Kerry O’Keefe has served as the CEO of Little Athletics NSW (LANSW) for more than twenty (20) years and has decided that now is the right time to pursue new opportunities. Kerry has made an enormous contribution to Little Athletics over an extended period and has a wealth of experience in the Australian sporting landscape. She is looking forward to a break and the next stage of her career. LANSW thanks Kerry for her lengthy service and wishes her success in all future endeavours.
To ensure it’s business as usual, the Board has decided to bring in a fellow board member as Interim CEO. Melissa Chandler will take on this role until such time that a suitable replacement can be found. Mel has been on the board for a year now and has many years of Commercial experience in the fields of finance, operations, and project management. Mel is also a former Little Athlete and has volunteered her time at her local club for the past eight (8) years.
LANSW is currently undergoing an internal review to implement a long-term strategy with the aim of ensuring the sport remains strong and relevant. This work is progressing to schedule and we are eager to share the results of this review over the coming months. The advent of COVID-19 has thrown up additional challenges, as well as opportunities for Little Athletics which we now need to navigate carefully.
There is no doubt that the 2020/2021 season will test us at many levels, however, we are confident that we will successfully negotiate our way through this difficult period.
