Little Athletics NSW maintains a strong partnership with the Ronald McDonald House charity, which is why the LANSW staff were honoured to take part in the Meals from the Heart program on Monday evening.
The Ronald McDonald House Westmead has 60 rooms to accommodate the families of sick children in Western Sydney – facilities include kitchens, dining areas, recreation rooms, laundries, garden spaces, fitness rooms and a learning centre.
Meals from the Heart provides a much-needed service to the families staying at Ronald McDonald House Westmead – volunteers can support families of ill children by preparing and sharing a healthy, home-cooked meal for those in need.
Staff from LANSW and Athletics NSW spent an evening assisting with the Meals from the Heart program, where they cooked meals, played games and organised an Easter egg hunt with the children in attendance.
Around 80 people enjoyed a home-cooked meal, with plenty of smiles provided by our enthusiastic volunteer staff.
While this was only a small contribution from our staff, we look forward to working further with our charity partner in the future.
