A thrilling success!
Last weekend the first instalment of the inaugural Little Athletics NSW Winter Track Series took place with resounding success. Over 300 athletes from across NSW descended upon the Warm Up track at Sydney Olympic Park for an evening of competition to fight off those Winter blues.
The new format event, which saw 65 LANSW Centres represented, had athletes competing and accumulating points for their Centre, based on their finishing positions.
The opening meet was one of excitement and interest with the current standing of Centres being: Balmain – 656pts, Sutherland – 561pts, and Manly Warringah – 521pts.
Of course, this initial event would not have been possible without the generous support of our Volunteers and Officials that contributed their time and expertise over the weekend. Little Athletics NSW would like to give a huge thank you and acknowledgement to all that made the first meet possible. If you are interested in volunteering or officiating at the next two Winter meets, please register via the Officials portal or contact Daniel Warren directly via dwarren@lansw.com.au
With two more meets to be held rounding out the series, competition is sure to heat up, but the best part… If you or your Little Athletes could not attend the first series, there is still time to compete at Meets 2 and 3!
With Meet 2 being held at Harold Corr Oval in Werrington, during Winter School Holidays, it is a great opportunity to get out and enjoy what Little Athletics NSW competitions have to offer.
